Avelox is a broad spectrum antibiotic that works well on U.R.I. It also works well on lung infections. Your U.R.I. is probably caused by a bacteria, which is why your doctor prescribed the antibiotic. A steroid would have little to no effect on a bacterial infection. Take the avelox as directed and make sure to take all of it, even if you start feeling better. Good luck.
In most people it does, me i was allergic to it! i would rather take avelox prednisone can be dangerous, unless a dr is folllowing u. it can deplete bone mass and cause weight gain. it can also effect ur heart if u stop abruptly. bu8t if you need prednisone it can help alot. as it is an anti-inflamatory drug
avelox is an antibiotic and prednisone is a steroid. if you have infection then avelox is what you need. a prednisone on the other hand is usually prescribed for someone having a bad case of asthma or COPD
