We never see him take it, but in either "Jones" "Distress" or "Fear and Loathing" We see him go into a bathroom,lock the door, and take it out of his bag. But, he hears Hotch calling his name and leaves the bathroom without taking it. So we never really see him take it. It’s just implicated that he did, because his behavior in those episode is similar to someone coming off of a high/withdrawling.
