When does Lantus (Solostar) start working after injection?

As you know, Lantus is a slow release acting insulin specifically designed for a 24 hour period., so it will act slowly but steadily, if your looking for immediate results then you should be on a fast acting insulin taken just before meals, depending on the amount of carbs. your eating.

Lantus and other slow releasing forms of insulin should betaken by diabetics who have A1c’s a bit higher than the recommended value….approx.6.5%, if your A1c’s are above 7% than a faster acting form of insulin is required but you need to discuss this with your physician.
