I am needing an anti inflammatory over the counter (Ibuprofen) I think, (not completely sure anymore) if I am allergic to aspirin. I had a muscle pull in High school(15 yrs ago) and took 2 tylenol and 1 aspirin and broke out in hives. I haven’t taken aspirin since.
Will it mess me up if I take 1 tablet of Ibuprofen?
What is EC?

You may or may not be sensitive to Ibuprofen. Some people who are allergic to aspirin have no problem with Ibuprofen and others do; it sometimes has aspirin-like effects on the stomach, but it of course doesn’t contain the same substances, so it depends on the patient. You may want to ask your doctor, who will have better recommendations than me. However, I strongly believe that you wouldn’t have a problem with Tylenol, because it’s quite well-tolerated by the stomach; or maybe you should consider a prescribed anti-inflammatory. Hope I helped.
No, you should be fine.
The trick with ibuprofin is not to overdose on it (don’t take more than 12 tablets in any 24 hour period), but to take an amount which will alleviate the pain.
The usual amount is three or four 200 mg. tablets every eight hours.
take extra strength arthritic TYLENOL
Hello,
I have the 800 mg, and the 600 mg.
Take it with food (need to take my own advice), for it can mess with your stomach.
Medications ie drugs do different things to different people.
I do ok on it and lay off of it for a time, then take it, then break.
Just one may not hurt, but everyone is different. Ask your doctor even, most places you can call there nurse and ask.
If you do try it just keep the effects written down. If it does not work out for you do not use it again.
Trying to answer responsable.
Wish you well
You might try halving it if its not EC. but If you are allergic to asa, you should not take any nsaids. they all have traces of the same active ingredients.
please only take a little Tylenol since it can cause liver damage. call your MD for more guidance as to what you should take.
Unless you also have an allergy to ibuprofen, you’ll be fine. Ibuprofen, tylenol (acetimenophen) and aspirin, as well as Alieve (naproxen sodium) are all totally different creatures!
however, if you’re not used to taking Ibuprofen, you may want to eat with it, because it can be hard on your stomach!
Take care and good luck!
