What should the dilantin level be for someone taking dilantin?

My first Dr. said 10 and now my new Dr. just said 14 is low.

According to the Prentice Hall Nurse’s Drug Guide 2007, normal therapeutic levels for Dilantin are 10 – 20 mcg/mL. Toxicity is from 30 – 50 mcg/mL. Lethal level is 100 mcg/mL or more.

10-20 is accepted textbook range

dosage: The usual dosage of Dilantin is 4-8 mg/kilogram of body weight per day. Dilantin is usually taken two times a day.

Therapeutic Drug Levels: The blood level of Dilantin that is found to prevent seizures in most people is between 10-20µg/ml.
