What is it about Abilify and Lexapro that can make some people gain weight?

I don’t know where you heard this but there both weight neutral I believe. I know abilfy does not for sure cause weight gain. I was on those 2 meds for 3 years and never gained a pund. It did nothing to my appetite and did not affect my energy nor sex drive. It just didnt help really control my bp as much as i would liked. Warning-this is extremly rare but it causes strokes in the elderly and while on it I had 2 mini strokes and they belive from abilify. But very RARE!

Now Seroquel, Depakote, litium and risperdal I know are kamjor weight gainers.

But imo u have nothing to worry about. If u did maybe 5 pds but i honestly have never heard about ppl gaining weight from those 2. I read a bipolar board often and theres always threads on which meds make u blow up
