Naprosyn (generic name naproxen sodium), also known as Aleve, is in my opinion the single best medication for menstrual cramps. It suppresses prostaglandins, which are responsible for cramps. It was once available as a prescription only; doctors called it "The Magic Blue Pill". You should have some relief from your symptoms with this medication.
