MIRAPEX:Pramipexole (INN, trade names Mirapex and Sifrol) is a medication indicated for treating Parkinson’s disease and restless legs syndrome (RLS). It is also sometimes used off-label as a treatment for cluster headache or to counteract the problems with low libido experienced by some users of SSRI antidepressant drugs. Pramipexole has shown robust effects on pilot studies in a placebo-controlled proof of concept study in bipolar disorder. Pramipexole is classified as a non-ergoline dopamine agonist.
ALLEGRA:Fexofenadine hydrochloride (brand names include Allegra and Telfast) is an antihistamine drug used in the treatment of hayfever and similar allergy symptoms. It was developed as a successor of and alternative to terfenadine (brand names include Triludan and Seldane), an antihistamine with potentially serious contraindications. Fexofenadine, like other second and third-generation antihistamines, does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier, and so causes less drowsiness than first-generation histamine-receptor antagonists. It works by being an antagonist to the H1 receptor.
LIPITOR:Atorvastatin (INN) (pronounced /??t?rv??stæt?n/), (marketed under the name Lipitor, Lipidra, Aztor, Torvatin, Sortis, Torvast, Torvacard, Totalip, Tulip, Xarator, Atorpic, Liprimar, Atorlip, Storvas and other names), is a member of the drug class known as statins, used for lowering blood cholesterol. Atorvastatin inhibits the rate-determining enzyme located in hepatic tissue that produces mevalonate, a small molecule used in the synthesis of cholesterol and other mevalonate derivatives. This lowers the amount of cholesterol produced which in turn lowers the total amount of LDL cholesterol.
With 2006 sales of US$12.9 billion under the brand name Lipitor, it is the largest selling drug in the world.
Lipitor is not the only statin; there are several other statins on the market.
VASOTEC:Enalapril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used in the treatment of hypertension and some types of chronic heart failure. Enalapril was the first member of the group of ACE inhibitors known as the dicarboxylate-containing ACE inhibitors. It is marketed by Merck & Co. (Merck, Sharp & Dohme) under the trade names, Renitec and Vasotec. The primary effect of enalapril, as with all ACE inhibitors, is to lower blood pressure.
PAXIL:Paroxetine (trade names Seroxat, Paxil, Parotin, Aropax, Xetanor, ParoMerck, Rexetin) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It was released in 1992 by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline. In 2006 it was the fifth-most prescribed antidepressant in the United States retail market, with more than 19.7 million prescriptions. The prescription of this drug is controversial because of side effects such as suicidal ideation (thoughts of suicide) and withdrawal syndrome which have resulted in legal proceedings against the manufacturer.
THALIDOMIDE:Thalidomide is a sedative-hypnotic, and multiple myeloma medication. The drug is a potent teratogen in rats, rabbits, and primates including humans: this means that severe birth defects may result if the drug is taken during pregnancy.

They are a brand names for the drugs. What I do with any prescribed drug is look on the computer for side effects. The lists are a lot longer on the computer than drug store information slips. Also, beware, as drug companies spend millions of dollars to create new drugs all the time. Many are prescribed as soon as FDA approval is given. One such drug has been in recent news, and billions were spent to victims of Celebrex.Users had strokes and heart attacks, and many died.
