I am taking Tegretol Retard 200mg twice a day. I am also trying to increase my fitness levels but have heard that this medication can alter your heart rate. Is this correct? If so how can I compensate when exercising?

How does coumadin compare to pradaxa?

I’m hoping that Pradaxa helps my husband, who had a stroke a few months ago. He didn’t want to take coumadin due to being in a job that he gets cut almost daily. I was also advised that prolonged use of coumadin will damage a persons veins, another reason not to take ‘rat poison.’

Why are drugs like Seroquel, Geodon, and Risperdal still prescribed when Abilify is better than them all?

Abilify is the atypical antipsychotic that has the fewest extrapyramidal side effects, low risk of sedation, low risk of orthostatic hypotension, and doesn’t have any anticholinergic side effects. All of the other atypical antipsychotics aren’t as good as this. Why haven’t the other 3 drugs been driven out of the market by the superior Abilify?

If I was given Decadron IV, why am I taking prednisone?

I had to go to the ER for an allergic reaction. There, they gave me Epinephrine Sub-Q and Decadron IV (10mg), Pepcid (20mg), and Benadryl (25mg) all IVP.
