Depo medrol is a steriod. It will likely cause her to drink and urinate more than usual for the next few days. It can also increase her appetite, so don’t let her eat free choice or she just might go hog wild :)
Depo medrol can have serious side effects, but they are quite rare. Most Vets will prescribe steriods in pill form – its not so risky that way. The injection gives her a heavy dose of steriods that will wear off over the next few weeks. The pill form is given daily then weaned down to an everyother day dose, therefore the injection is much more convenient for some clients.
Steriods should not be given with certain pain meds, so as always, don’t give her/him anyother meds without consulting with your vet first.

depo medrol is a steroid injection. steroids can cause increased drinking, increased thirst, and an increase in appetite. if they are only given on occasion, they generally do not pose any risk. however, if used frequently, a dog is at risk for developing diabetes, urinary tract infections, and cushings like symptoms.

what caused the skin irritation?
