I took it, it is so strong, it really gets rid of headaches, however I hate it because it impairs my thinking ALOT.

This is a small blue, round pill with Fioricet on one side and 3 heads on the other. It is a barbituate and analgestic (pain reliever). It is prescribed for migrane and other pain. Fioricet is one of many combination products a barbituate- butalbial and an analgestic- acetemoniphen. This medicine can also be used as a tranquilizer.

Most common side effects: Light-headedness, dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, sweating, appetite loss, and mild stimulation.
Less common: weakness, headache, upset stomach, sleepiness, agitation, tremor, uncoordinated muscle movement, mild hallucinations, disorientation, visual disturbances, euphoria (feeling "high") dry mouth, constipation, facial flushing, changes in heart beat, palpitations, feeling faint, difficulty urinating, rash, itching, confusion, rapid breathing and diarrhea.

it is best taken on an empty stomach, but may be taken with food if it upsets your stomach.

Yes, actually I have. It has codeine, acetomenaphin, butabital, and caffeine in it. It is quite effective. I have taken it over a period of probably 10 years…not so much anymore, as my migraines have drastically receded.

Although it is a great pain medication, you should really be taking something that is specifically for migraine. Maybe talk to your doctor about Imitrex or another drug like it. These work very well & are specifically for the treatment of Migraines. These drugs have fewer side effects & are not the same class of narcotics.

Yes,I am currently taking it also when my migraines get really bad(mine is called Fiorinol w/ codeine but it’s pretty much the same thing). It actually works great for me.It contains codeine so you may get side effects from it like light-headedness,dizziness, "high" feeling, some mild confusion, nausea and drowsiness. It depends on the person…everyone reacts differently.

Taking it with food may alleviate some of the symptoms. Also if you get nauseous, you can ask your doc to prescribe some Phenergan which helps with that.

Also, another problem you can get is physical dependency/addiction.Codeine is very addicting so be careful how long you use it.I try to use it only when my migraines are very severe.

Talk with your doctor/pharmacist about any other meds you are taking to make sure they are ok to take with the Fioricet.I always call a pharmacist when starting a new med and ask them if its ok to take in conjunction with any other meds I’m on at the time.Better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck.
