Don't take a chance. Sometimes when one is in such horrible intollarable pain thinking is not something they are so good at. If this is the case, they might not remember if they took their medication because the pain is still so severe so they take the recommended dose again. And at times all they can think to do is over medicate for immidiate relief. The conquences of the over dose is not really on their mind at the time. A medication induced comma could be what they are looking for without realizing it. So maybe it would be best if you ask your father to let you regulate his medication during those horrible painful times. Please don't stress yourself out. It is wonderful that you are there for you father. Please let someone help you know what is best to do for him so this does not happen again.
