I’m taking 18 mg of Concerta once a day and 150 mg of Bupropion SR twice a day. Should I take the first dose of Bupropion with the Concerta? Hopefully there are a few shrinks here! Any comments on maximum alcohol intake? Also, if I take a small tablet of Trazodone for sleep, is that contraindicated as well? Thanks guys.

  2. Bupropion is the metabolite of diethylpropion a scheduled stimulant. Taking two stimulants together is generally not advised unless you’re into recreational use. Bupropion has a reasonably high incidence of seizure inductance. Taking with another stimulant lowers the seizure threshold, and alcohol lowers it even more (despite it being a depressant). Trazodone can mess with you in either direction, and I hated it…no recreational value, but you probably don’t want it for that anyway.
