"Racing" heartbeat is not a usual or common known side effects of Lotrel but rather it could be a primary symptom of overdosage which goes along with a sudden drop of blood pressure. You need to see a doctor immediately for reevaluation of his dosage treatment.?
yes it could be, my husband had thyroid cancer- high blood pressure and diabetes, and was put on lotrel- the doc adjusted his dosage and it got better though, his dosage may be too high or he might be having other problems, best to go to the doc and get checked out. My husband had to do a holter monitor test, for the heart, that way the docs could track when his heart rate went up and why. best of luck to you both
