Im planning on getting pregnant, and my doctor wants to start me on enbrel for rheumatiod arthritis, I heard it is ok and safe during pregnancy but not sure, any suggestions please.

  1. Every medication has the potential to harm a fetus. Even Tylenol. Your rheumatologist and OB would consult each other during your pregnancy to decide whether the benefits of taking the medication will outweigh the risks to the baby. They would continue to monitor your treatment and if they feel that the cons outweigh the pros, they would either stop your treatment for the remainder of your pregnancy or try other options.
