i have a sinus infection and was prescribed 500mg biaxin (clarithromycin).
im 17 years old, 185lbs, i heard it can have serious side effects, so far ive tried 2 other medicines, one was called Ceftin, and the other i dont remember,
is this Biaxin safe?

i’m your age, and i recently got pretty sick. i had walking pneumonia for about two weeks, and my doctor gave me 500mg of clarithromycin to take twice a day. it took about a week to notice solid results, but i finished my prescription the other day and feel a ton better.
the one thing i noticed when i was taking it was that when i also used my inhaler (my asthma isn’t severe, but acts up every once in a while) my heart rate went up to like 120 for a while. it was kind of scary but my doctor said that was normal.
