Is it possible that all the tamiflu supplies could be grossly misused and reduced?

Due to the swine flu pandemic helpline? If ordinary people on the end of a phone are giving the go ahead to let tamiflu to people who phone with the correct symptoms,, couldnt this lead to the drug being misused? seeing as most of us by now know the symptoms and could phone up to describe them falsly just to have it in the cupboard? not saying I would do that, but isnt the whole thing being handled a bit silly?

Yes thats the main concern and the problem is if Anti-viral drugs are taken unnecessarily and a more more virulent form of the virus mutates in the winter, it could be immune to Tamiflu.

It isn’t going to cause any harm to the person even if it is misused. Would you rather go to the doctors and queue up behind 1000′s of people to get the drug?

Exactly. I just asked this and was ignored. In this case they should have sent us all our doses out through the post.
I am seriously seriously worried that they will run out and someone will get my and my family’s dose. This is not fair and I demand answers (I shout to no-one lol)

Yes, there is every possibility because a lot of people are selfish and will try to stockpile it.
