I just read this article online saying gardasil is the most painful of all the vaccinations you get. I think my mom is going to make me get it so I need some reassurance here. Is is really as bad as everyone says? What hurts the needle or the medicine or both? Is the needle really big? What is the least painful spot to get it your arm or your butt? How can I keep from freaking out when they get ready to give it to me?

They still don’t know all the side effects of Gardasil. It was pushed through way to fast, and now there have been many reports of severe problems. At least 10 women have died from it. I would never get it nor would I allow my daughters to get it. It has not been proven effective in preventing cervical cancer, and in fact has been linked to other types of cancer. You may not be "one less".
It only hurts up to like 5 minutes afterwards.
But then you’re fine.
But during those 5 minutes it really hurts.
It’ll be slightly sore for a few days.
Man up. It is temporary pain.
Hey!! I got the Gardasil shots last summer, there are 3 of them you get over 6 months. I thought it hurt when I got it but the nurse told me that it probably would because the medicine in it needs to be frozen and the coldness would make it hurt more. A couple months after my shots I could still feel pains in my arms from where the needles were placed and I went back to tell my doctor and all he told me that it was a common complaint, but it does go away. It’s probably better to be in a little bit of pain from a shot than go through cervical cancer and the treatments.
Gardasil only works for five years. And you can only get one series of shots in your lifetime. So its a waste if you get it when ur young. This is one of those things that doctors know, but don’t want you to know.
I dont know if you alread took it, but my first shot hurt the most, and yea that night i couldnt even sleep because my arm was sore it hurt for over a month…
the other 2 arent that bad…it didnt hurt at all,
my problem is that i am 25 and never had acne before after my 3 shot iv been breaking out like crazy and my doctor wont admit that its because of the shots…
i regret taking it. im now on intense acne medication…which i think is useless because its been 8 months and my face is not improving…
hope this helps
No, shots arent reeally that painful. Just dont tense up before you get it try to relax and breath as much as possible.
also a word of major advice, shake your arm for a while before and after you get the shot. ya you may look silly but it gets the blood flowing and reduces the soreness allot!
it still may get sore tho, i mean the vaccine is getting shot right into your arm muscel.
i advice you to not get it in the butt becasue it maye get sore and then you wil have to sit on it.
i just got my first shot of the 3 series today, i didnt look at the needle. my doctor warmed me some girls faint or scream from it and i was keeping calm but still excpecting the worst. it slightly stung when it was injected and stung a few seconds after but it wasnt even phased because the whole time i was thinking oh wow that doesnt even hurt that bad. i got a little hot after ward, but just breathed alot to get some oxygen.
but compared to other shots its not that bad but is a little worse. othr shots: slight sting when it goes in the skin, soreness after
gardasil: slight sting going into skin, slight sting while in skin, alot less soreness after compared to other shots tho
everybody is different but you will do fine. just dont freak your self out about it. and this is something good to think about too, while you are getting a shot that stings alittle there are so much other kids going through way wors pain then that to try to toughen up for them. it helps me..
ok hope i answered all yyuor Qs. good luck gurl!
