is caduet the first drug used to treat hypertension and high cholesterol? ?

Caduet is simply a combination of two medications that have been on the market for some time. Norvasc and Lipitor. It, therefore, probably is the only one to do these two things, but there is no shortage of drugs to lower blood pressure and other drugs to lower cholesterol.

Amlodipine is a good med, but not first line. Usually, something like hydrochlorothiazide, lisinopril, or metoprolol is started first.

Atorvastatin (lipitor) is a good cholesterol med. Any meds of the class are good to start with.
