I am prescribed Celexa and I am kinda iffie about taking it. Just looking for someone else that takes it and see if there were any really strange or weird side effects.
Is anyone out there been prescribed Celexa?
Previous post: Is anyone familiar with the drug Lyrica?

I take a generic form of it, Citalopram, its the same thing just cheap haha. The first time I took it the next day I was light-headed and a little tired but that only lasted a day. I haven’t had any other side effects.
It makes me feel a little stoned. I hear that its becuase I just started it and as my body adjusts that it will go away. I would take it in the morning. I started out taking it at night and I couldn’t sleep. But so far it seems to be doing its job, my mood swings are more up than down. I haven’t felt like eating, but that could be my wellbutrin. Good Luck.
Celexa is now available as a generic, with the newer Lexapro the drug currently on patent. I have taken it for 5 years, but have noticed a difference between generic labs. Rite-Aid seems to shop for the cheapest stuff available to give the $4 script and still make money. I get mine at WalMart for $4 and it is always the same supplier and always works as intended.
Side effects are mild and include diarrhea, headache and sleepiness.
Take at night with an asprin and the headaches disappear.
Don’t expect miracles right away. You’ll have to find the dose thats right. Start with 10mg and work up 2 months at a time. If the side effects become burdensome, stay on that dose until they subside, then move higher. Might even break the tablet in half and try a morning dose and evening dose.
Its great stuff and it works, but you have to give it time.
