I have brusitus in the shoulder and the doc has given me this. They pharmicisit has said that it can make me very very sleepy. I’m worried about taking now because I have 2 girl scout troops and 3 kids to worry about :)

Has anyone taken this stuff and did it make you sleepy? it’s 2x 75mg once a day

  1. just because indomethacin is a NSAID doesn’t mean it is exactly the the same as all others drugs in this class – silly assumption.

the pharmacist is right… it CAN cause this, but it only did so in 1% of the trial group as referred to in MIMS 2004 – (Australian drug guide – heaps of info – exactly what your doctor was looking at when he prescribed it – or international equivelent)

thats a normal dose and so side effects are unlikely -but if they do occur chat with your doctor and get something different because not all NSAIDs are the same!

  2. Indomethacin is an NSAID, just like Advil or Aleve. If neither of those make you sleepy, the Indocin likely won’t either. I don’t know why the phamacist would tell you that, because NSAIDS are not like narcotics, and I’ve NEVER taken an NSAID that caused drowsiness. Maybe he/she was confused about what type of medication it is?
