Do you mean ulcers like Crohn’s disease? Entocort is usually given to treat Crohn’s disease and not stomach ulcers since it is a time released medication that effects the large intestine only.
Where is the pain exactly? Is it around your gut or up by your ribs? Has he done any bloodwork? Tested you for celiac and hpylori?
I can not imagine why he would put you on entocort without doing a colonoscopy myself.
If you write more details maybe we can help you out a bit more. Hope you feel better soon though.
If you have not seen a gastroenterologist, I urge you to do so. The digestive tract is their area of specialization, and there are good treatments for those with ulcers.
Good luck!
I am being treated for ulcers as we speak. I am on Amoxicillin and Clarithromyacin. It took several months to find out what I have. I had to lose 30 pds, have constant vomiting and loss of appetite, go to the ER and back to my doctor before he tested me for something peculiar.
My doctor tested me for H. Pylori. It is common in most people but is rare when it causes flare ups and illness/pain. If you smoke, have extreme amounts of stress in your life or have had any food poisoning, you have even higher risk of developing the bacteria.
Request to be tested for it. I am on medical leave from work and have been for over 2 months. The first round of meds did not work, I will have to start another round of anti -biotic therapy again!
Don’t ask your doctor, TELL YOUR DOCTOR to test you for it! Since I have been diagnosed, 7 of my friends have been tested for the same thing and 3 has come up positive for the bacteria.
Go to google and look up H.Pylori for more info. Good luck!
have you had the test for h pylori? that is a big cause of ulcers.
my grandpa had an ulcer and he used to take baking soda, and milk of magnesium. i’ve also heard that coconut milk can help.
i’m sorry you have to go through the pain i know it sucks :/ but start by eating simple foods. and you should make sure you’re eating enough despite the pain, because if it’s empty then the acid will just eat at the walls of your stomach even more.
also, i don’t know what those drugs are, but is one a PPI? my doctor put me on that, and it really helped.
good luck, i hope you feel better soon (:
ask your doctor for a colonoscopy ulcers can be a sign of colitis or chrones disease and antibiotics will make it worse if this is the conditon you have my husband has this and it can be very dangerous a colonoscopy is what you need goodluck
