possible side effects so why don't you sleep during these hours so that while the medicine works in your body, your brain won't be affected much and also see a doctor to see what is the problem or maybe you are taking alcohol too ^_^

The headaches might be due to high blood pressure, you need to see your doctor.

The drug benicar falls into the AT1 receptor blocker class of drugs in terms of how it works.

The granddaddy type of drugs were ACE inhibitors, that prevented the formation of angiotension 2 from forming, angiotension 2 acts on both AT1 and AT2 receptors, but using ACE inhibitors to lower angiotension has coughing as a side effect .

The drug companies say that blocking AT2 is probably not important, so drugs like Benicar which only block AT1 can replace ACE inhibitors to avoid the coughing side effect. (the coughing though is probalby related to a build up of bradykinin due to ACE inhibition, something that itself lowers blood pressure)

Sounds good in theory, but in clinical trials when compared with ACE inhibitors with another AT1 blocker the AT1 blocker group had a higher death rate, so high they stopped the trials early.

There are tons of different kinds of drugs to treat high blood pressure, if it were me I would ask the doctor to consider something other than these AT1 blockers. Until then keep on taking them, you still need something to control the blood pressure.
