I have PCOS, i have been prescribed aldactone, will this cause my hair on my head to start thinning as well?

I am also on metformin 1000 mg twice daily and im trying to become pregnant!

Headache

Impotence

Confusion

Fatigue

Skin rashes

Disturbances of the gut such as diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain

Abnormal enlargement of breasts in men (gynaecomastia)

Irregular menstrual cycle

Disturbances in the levels of chemical components (electrolytes) in the blood

The side effects listed above may not include all of the side effects reported by the drug’s manufacturer so it’s best you speak to the doctor who put you on this medication for more information, especially if your unsure of all the side effects..

brandlyn October 17, 2009 at 7:15 pm: I am also taking the medication. I am currently on 50mg. I have not experienced the thinning of my hair, but I do know that could be a side effect. If you are concerned you need to talk to your doctor. Luckily I haven’t had any of the side effects from this medication. I am hoping to start the metformin in the next couple of months once I am on the normal dose of 75mg of aldactone. Good luck to you!
