Inderal, aka propranolol, works on the physical symptoms of anxiety such as dry mouth, palpitations, stomach churning. Most people can tolerate this drug with no ill effects, although it should be avoided if you have a history of asthma or bronchospasm, or if you have heart problems. They can slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure so you may feel a little light headed, but the heart rate and blood pressure typically increase in a person who is anxious so this is unlikely.

It is primarily used for high blood pressure (hypertension). However, it is also used in case of performance anxiety. In this case, Inderal is only taken in small amounts and only on special occasions so there's less chance to experience side effects.

Life throws pressures at us. What will you do when other pressures start to mount. Will you be tempted to use it then.

First, if your taking it under the direction of a doctor, you need to talk to him, not us about making any changes in your medicines. This is a very serious medicine. Not something you should use on the advice of anyone but a medical professional.

The following list is from the Nursing Drug Handbook. These are not necessarily what you will have but are what could happen.

It is seemingly harmless unless you consider the adverse reaction potential: fatigue, lethargy, hallucinations, mental depression, light-headedness, insomnia, bradycardia, hypotension, heart failure, intermittent claudication, intensification of AV block, abdominal cramping, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, agranulocytosis, bronchospasm.

Another problem is that you should take it with food. However, most professional speakers do not eat prior to to speaking.

Stress is something we can learn to manage mentally. So if you want the easy way out, it has some risks.

If you want to learn the better way, you will need to do some research, practice and master your destiny.

Hope this helps.

Good health to you.
