I have a prescription for Prilosec, will the pharmacy (Medco Mail in Services) send me generic?

I have a prescription written for Prilosec, but I know a generic is available, will Medco send me a generic? I also included a sticky note to the prescription requesting they only fill it if a generic will be sent to me.
There is a thing on the prescription that said the medication can be substituted with a generic unless otherwise initialed by the doctor and my doctor did not initial that area.

Yes, they will fill it in generic.
Most pharmacies always fill in generic unless you or your doctor specifically requests brand.

I have Med co to, and use prilosec also. Your Dr. has to put on the prescription can be substituted with generic. Then when you send it in you put a note in that you prefer generic.

Medco probably won’t cover it because it is over the counter. If your physician didn’t initial the do not substitute section, than you are fine.
