How long does it take for ibuprofen to reduce swelling?

by Admin on November 13, 2009

I had hand surgery yesterday. My hand is swelling even though I have it elevated. I can’t ice it because it’s in wads of gauze.I just started taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours. How long until I notice a reduction in swelling?

time alone will reduce swelling if you don’t use your hand as much. Give it a couple to a few days.
Ibuprofen isn’t for reduction of swelling, it’s more to kill nerve pain for a couple of hours if not a few.

a significant reduction you will notice in a day or two

20 – 60 min, but it works best if you take it regularly, make sure you take it with food.

I have never found ibuprofen does anything at all it doesn’t reduce pain or swelling or fever so don’t be surprised if it has no effect

I recommend you 3 caps RENEWIN once a day.,in the morning….and less Ibuprofren,maybe 600 mgs…Add 100 mgs Hyaluronic Acid,instead.
