How long does it take Diflucan to clear up a yeast infection?

by Admin on November 11, 2009

I took it on Monday and it is now almost Thursday. I am still having itching and discomfort. Should I say it didn’t work and just go buy some Monistat or should I give it a couple more days?

Most medicines for yeast infection take about 4 days to clear it up.

it should only take 24 to 48 hours for it to clear up after taking the medicine, you may need a second dose. call the doctor

Call the dr- you might have something other than a yeast infection. Diflucan has always worked immediately for me- never too more than 36 hours for relief. If the dr. didn’t do a culture to verify that it’s yeast, you might need more tests. Don’t treat yourself.

Good luck, feel better.
