I started taking it today and my doctor said it would kick in right away but I still have the same results as my over-the-counter drugs. And also, can I take the over-the-counter symptom reliever while I’m on the antibiotics?

  1. It definitely won’t kick in right away. If, after two days, you don’t feel better, see a doctor.

  2. Bactrim didn’t work for me, I had chronic UTI’s and one in particular went to my kidneys, they had to give me an antibiotic injection as a plan B.

  3. First of all bactrim sucks for a uti. It makes me feel horrible. After 2-3 days you should start to feel a difference. But it wont be all the gone usually 7 days.
