I’ve stopped taking the amoxicillin, and things have certainly improved, but an occ. hive will still pop up.
I’m asking because the hives are not terribly bothersome but def. there and i started wellbutrin and amoxicillin around the same time, so i’m trying to figure out whether its the amoxicillin (which i’m not taking anymore), or the wellbutrin (which i have taken before without hives appearing), or something else. they are very small hives, last for a short time, between the size of pimples and bug bites. i also itch, even where there are no hives, and this itching gets worse at night.
i’m normal weight for being a 5′ 10" female.

It depends on a lot of factors. The amount of amoxicillin in your body, the degree of sensitivity of your allergy, your body size, etc.
Edit: I’m a bit of an allergy freak (allergic to several things), so really the only suggestion I can give you is this: water, water, water! Drink lots of water – it will help flush it out of your system as quickly as possible. You’ll most likely feel the effects of it in your body for a few days unfortunately.
First of all, if you’ve never taken amoxicillian before, then that’s not it. You need to be exposed to something before you can become allergic to it.
Secondly, an allergic reaction will last for as long as the drug is in your system.
Just because you’ve taken Welbutrin before and never had that reaction does not mean that it’s not causing it now.
I’d suggest stopping them both and going to a doctor.
if you have hives. ask your doc. for a ‘cortizone’ shot. hives are not per say an infection more an allergic reaction. why would he give you an antiobiotic. you need a cortisteroid.
