Hey so my girlfriend is taking amoxicillin for a sinus infection and I happen to be allergic to that. I know that I can have a reaction from just kissing her because I’ve found various sources telling me this and my throat was a little swollen this morning before learning I should not be kissing her. Basically I want to know how long after she stops taking it that it would be safe to kiss her again without me dying.
How long does Amoxicillin stay in your system after you stop taking it?

For people with well-functioning kidneys, amoxicillin would be expected to be completely eliminated from most people in 10 hours or less. With renal impairment, however, it can take a person significantly longer to clear the antibiotic, with worse renal impairment taking longer than mild impairment. Some patients with renal failure have taken upwards of 100 hours to clear the drug.
