How long after stop taking Lexapro can I expect to lose weight?

Took Lexapro for 1 year; gained 30 pounds; work out 6 days week/ went off Lexapro March 1st, 07; still work out and eat right; can’t lose or budge scale; any suggestions? How long does it take?

It might take a year for the body’s metabolism to recover. Consider having your thyroid checked.

I would like to know that too.Did you have to take some thing else or are you OK without anything?I’ve been on it for almost a year and didn’t know it was causing my weight gain.I started halving it to wean off.OMG i don’t work out I’m in trouble!

hi samantha, i’m sure you were weened off the lexapro by your physcian and didn’t go off it cold turkey also give your self six to eight weeks eat right , drink plenty of fluids, adequet amount of sleep excercise,(don’t over do it) figure every body is different in there height and shape you’ll lose the weight because your aware of it . don’t be so hard on your self before you know it you’ve lost the 30 pounds your doing good
