I’ll make this shorter. I’m 20 in college being diagnosed with auto immune disease. Tired all the time. Skipping class because i don’t care about anything anymore. A friend let me try adderall to see if it helped. Helped me a ton felt happy, social, motivated and most of all not tired. How do I go about trying to get it prescribed? I don’t want to just ask my rheumatologist for adderall thinking I’m a druggy. Whats some steps I could take?

  1. Autoimmune disease is associated with depression. It sounds like you are having symptoms of depression. Adderall can cause a lot of serious damage to your brain chemistry and permanent neurological damage if taken in large amounts. It can be addictive , so don’t take any more.
The best thing to do is get an appointment with a psychiatrist who can diagnose you. Clinical social workers and psychologists also treat depression, but cannot Rx meds., but can refer you after they evaluate you.

If you ask your family doctor for Adderal, they will just think you are a druggie, but if you go to a psychiatrist and tell them your symptoms, they may take a more brain chemistry approach. There are antidepressants that may make you feel better.

Remember that it is illegal to take meds that are not Rxd for you, and if someone catches you or tests you for that, it could be on a legal record of some kind, so it is best to do it legally if that is what you need.

  2. adderall is mostly for the pharm. companies profit. Try exercising, eating better, getting a schedule going, too bad everyone wants a quick fix and would rather rot their kidneys than just make a lifestyle change.

You can go to your doctor and ask for the drug by name. With all the crap on TV now its common and its likely your Dr has a deal w/ a company. you buy certain pill, he gets a commision for pushing it on you.
