I was just reading the side effects of Phenergan and it said you can have states of hysteria and agitated behavior . My friend took only one tablet the other day (with nothing else – no other drugs etc) and turned into a crazy person for 20mins and said he didn’t know what was happening and didn’t know why he felt like this. I calmed him down and he was fine. He said he felt like he was tripping and couldn’t stop it. Is this common, and why did it happen???

  1. I took phenergan for nausea and vomiting. I immediately went into an altered state when it was given intravenously. I started talking crazy to my friend right there in the hospital. I said things that were totally out of my character. When the nurse administered it she said it was the "tell all" medication. I feel like I was high as a kite and didn’t know how to calm down. When I take the 25mg tablets it’s not as bad I just get extremely drowsy. Im not sure how common it is or even why it happened but I do not that this particular medication is extremely strong and if more than one is taken at a time the side effects are worse. I pray your boyfriend is better. Maybe it will be good to let his physician know about this and/or call the pharmacist. Also ask what should be done if it happens again.
