I am 25 weeks pregnant with twins and i had very bad anxiety. I read all the crazy things that Macrobid CAN do to your body and im really really afraid to take it. They arent even sure if i have a UTI, i only had trace leukocytes in my urine. and i also understand what a UTI can turn into. Anyone have any stories to share? Reassurance??
Has anyone ever taken Macrobid while pregnant and had a good/bad experience?

i took macrobid and it cleared up the start of the uti and never had any problems with the pregnancy so your safe i promise!!! congrads by the way
I’m 8 months pregnant and went to the ER a month ago because I had an odd burning near my ribs. The doctor was asking ME what it was though I was there to get HIS proffessional opinion. He said it was probably a strained rib but wanted to check my urine. After checking my urine he told me its "probably an infection". He wrote me a prescription for Macrobid, which the nurse gave to me. They could not seem to tell me if I had a kidney or Urinery track infection. I chose not to take the medicine. I do not fully trust doctors. I drank plenty of water instead and the next day the burning was gone and hasn’t returned. Water will flush anything out and its good for you and the baby. I don’t think the medication is needed. Hope this helps.
I had to take it during my first trimester after my OB/GYN said I had a trace amount of bacteria in my urine. The only thing I noticed is that the medicine made my pee mountain dew colored and I had to eat a full meal before taking it or else it upset my tummy and I vomited. It did cure me though because my pee was normal with no bacteria after I finished taking it. Also, make sure you drink lots of water and cranberry juice.
