I just started Kariva a month ago. I immediately gained five pounds and acne (which was previously only a problem before my period). That was bad enough, but now in the last week I am finding myself so fatigued I can barely get out of bed. It was my "period" week and I’ve gotten tired around my period before, but not like this, and not for so long. I am so unbelievably tired! (I have twins to take care of, so this is NOT a good thing!). This only occurred in my final week of the pills. My questions are: has anyone else experienced this? Is this going to go away? Is there another brand (maybe non-generic) I should try?

I have a friend who would occasionally pass out while she was on Kariva, it wasn’t conclusively linked to the pill, but it stopped when she switched pills.
There are so many different brands of oral contraceptives, you should be able to find one that works for you. Call your doctor, describe your symptoms with Kariva and ask if they have samples of another pill you could try.
My wife drinks Via Viente twice a day.

I use ortho tricyclen lo and it works pretty well for me and I didn’t have any side effects. Well other then the first pack of pills till my body adjusted. If you have doubts, call your physician or make an appointment. Birth control working isn’t a low priority.
I took mircette (Kariva is the generic version of mircette) and I had the same side effects. They do go away after a month or 2, but if it bothers you that much, you can always switch. People usually have good experiences with yasmin and yaz, but I’ve never taken either, so I can’t say from experience.
