Prednisone, on the other hand, which the docs use to treat exacerbations, has the potential to make you gain a TON of weight, regardless to how you eat or exercise. Take the ounce of prevention and go on the Advair if your doc recommended it. You'll be able to stay active, and not have the symptoms that can require the prednisone treatment later. *That* weight gain will be harder to take off than the original modification of your activity.
