I was just prescribed Bactrim for my cystic acne. I have to take it for 2 months. I am so nervous because I have read reviews on this drug. I have to take 2 tablets once a day.
Opinions please
Thank You !

I have taken Bactrim in the past without any side effects.
When you read a drug review, if anybody contracted any disease while they were testing the medicine it must be reported.
A good example is Prozac. If you believe the literature it will tell you that you can contract an STD from taking it, which we know is impossible.
Take the medication, you will do just fine on it.
p.s. I used to work in surgery at a major hospital and it was used on 1000’s of patients with no ill side effects.

Bactrim is a sulfa drug and is fine to use. I am not sure what concerns you have as you forgot to post what you wanted to know.

Bactrim, an antibacterial combination drug, is prescribed for the treatment of certain urinary tract infections, severe middle ear infections in children, long-lasting or frequently recurring bronchitis in adults that has increased in seriousness, inflammation of the intestine due to a severe bacterial infection, and travelers’ diarrhea in adults. Bactrim is also prescribed for the treatment of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, and for prevention of this type of pneumonia in people with weakened immune systems.
Sulfamethoxazole, an ingredient in Bactrim, is one of a group of drugs called sulfonamides, which prevent the growth of bacteria in the body.
It is important that you drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication in order to prevent sediment in the urine and the formation of stones.
Bactrim works best when there is a constant amount in the blood. Take Bactrim exactly as prescribed; try not to miss any doses. It is best to take doses at evenly spaced times day and night.
