I have been taking medroxyprogestrone (provera) to regulate my cycle and then on days 5-9 I take clomid. I don’t have a menstrual at all until I take the provera. Im not ovulating and therefore I have to get a 21 day progesterone check. My level is very low. Now I’ve been prescribed with metformin.How effective are the two together? Did anyone have any success with the metformin?
Does anyone have any information about clomid and metformin? How effective are these two? ?

My husband and I have been ttc since Nov 07. We have a ten year old but I have had issues with insulin resistance this time around. They did not find that part out until Dec 08 though. I started Metformin Dec 5th, possible conceived on either 14th or 26th (not sure if my cycle regulated or not, usually had 40-49 day cycles) have positive hcg, blood and ultrasound- We are expecting – due 9/17/09 approx (they will have to measure again later) It was our miracle because with the busy holidays we were not able to have sex as frequently as we have done in previous months so it is pretty remarkable that we succeeded this month! GOOD LUCK:)
My day 21s were running anywhere from 4-8 (normal is 10, ideal is 12 and above). I started Femara and Metformin and last month my level was 18! I’m hoping this is my BFP month!
I have several friends who told me Metformin was the miracle drug for them!
Metformin is a wonderful drug! I hadn’t ovulated or had a period in over a year. I ovulated 14 days after my first pill and started AF at cd28. I couldn’t beleive I was "normal"!!! I’m now on my 2nd cycle and am hoping to finally get pregnant after 3 years of trying to conceive.
