My Dr hsa prescribed it for IBS. I took it for the first time last night and spent the evening puking! I have a call into the Dr – but while I wait I was just wondering if anyone else has taken this medicine??? If so, did it help w/ symptoms? Did it give you any side effects?
Thanks-
Adria
It is a known side effect of this medication. Along with nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, anorexia bloating and loss of taste.
NOT that these can or should all happen to you.
This medication has to be fiddled with and have it’s dosages adjusted to limit the amount of side effects.

OMG.. Bentyl has been around for years. I was prescribed it way back in the early 80s for IBS.. It worked for me but I do not remember it giving me nausea. Did you happen to drink alcohol with it? Call your pharmacist and ask them about it. Usually a pharmacist will give you more infor than your doctor will. It worked for me though.

Bentyl is prescribed for the treatment of functional bowel/irritable bowel syndrome (abdominal pain, accompanied by diarrhea and constipation associated with stress).
Side effects may include:
Blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, light-headedness, nausea, nervousness, weakness
so if ya experience any of these then inform your doc about it…
