My daughter has been hearing voices and seeing a little girl that isn’t there. Her psychiatrist prescribed Abilify to help with the psycosis (sp?). He is giving her 2.5 mg every other day for seven days, 2.5 mg daily for seven days and then 5 mg daily after that. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has taken or is taking this drug. I haven’t started giving it to her yet. I just wanted to get all the facts before I do.

My husband takes Abilify (25mg) for bipolar disorder, along with buspirone. He has a head/chest cold and started taking Sudafed PE on Saturday. He quickly started showing signs of mania and has barely slept the past two nights. Not looking for a medical opinion; recognize we need to call his doc (it’s Christmas Eve!), etc. Just looking for anecdotal experience: anyone else had problems with Abilify and cold meds? Any suggestions?

I used to take 5 mg of Abilify but went down to 2.5 mg because of a side effect of muscle spasms that I cannot stand or function with. I suspect that might be why my depression is getting worse? If that’s the case, then would an even high dosage than 5 mg help with the depression? (I’m open to the idea of taking Benztropine to counteract the muscle spasms.)

I take meds for depressin and ADHD. I have stoped polling out my hair and biting my fingernails, I’ve stopped having tantrums.Abilify has helped with these problems.

two antidepressents cant be used at the same time, just clear me up?

i am kind of confused because should i consider abilify as a mood stabilizer as it is used for treating mania or as am ajunct for treating depression?

i want to arrive at a lebel of my illness, my doctor has a hard time telling any particular label, he tells me that my symptoms are mixed.

I am bipolar. I take seroquel at night. Abilify during the day. and now, my doc is having me take smaller doses of seroquel during the day as well…. makes me feel a bit down, i dont like the down. has anyone else experienced this?

A school psychiatrist placed my 4 year old nephew on Abilify because the school was ready to kick him out. He (nephew) has always been very out of control. He threatened suicide and defaces school property. Very angry. Bites kids, stomps on them. I dont think my sister is that bad of a mom. This kid has major issues.
