It is safe to have a beer with this as long as you have taken the medicine long enough to be sure it does not sedate you. Butalbital is a small, close to the bone, muscle relaxer. Because that is the type of muscles in your head - it is a very effective tension headache remedy. It will not help other types of headaches.
