According to pharmacy standards, it is not recommended to use expired medications…….however, I have done this very thing before with no real problems ocurring. The worst that can happen is that the medication in not as potent as it would be in it’s original state and may not be as effective……so if you give it a try and your infection does not clear up….then I would recommend that you telephone your doctor and request that he/she call a new rx in to the pharmacy of your choice…..most times they will, but some doctors prefer to see
the patient again to re-assess the condition……or you could call the pharmacy and have them call your doctor for a new refill……..

yeah you need to get a new tube. it expires because the chemicals separate and no longer function properly.
