by Admin on September 7, 2010

Hello.. I am a 14 year old and I have high blood pressure when i go to the doctors… Cuz when i get there i get nervous…When I get nervous or sometimes for no reason I get red and Blotchy on my face, chest, and arms… I have read that some people have the same symptoms as me and they take inderal and their red and blotchyness went away.. I AM NOT ALLERGIC TO ANYTHING…So i am wondering can teens take inderal?

Yes, teens can take Inderal, but it doesn’t sound like you need it. It sounds like you are having a very common anxiety reaction. A lot of people are nervous at Dr’s offices and have high blood pressures because of it. The best thing to do is have them take your vital signs on the way OUT, when you are calmer and they are likely to be more accurate. RE: the other situations when you get red and blotchy, that also sounds like anxiety/stress/embarrassment. When it happens just try some relaxation techniques or remove yourself from the situation. DO NOT take anything without discussing it with your doctor first.

You should talk to your doctor to see if he would consider inderal for you if you are interested in it. Inderal is approved for children.

Talk to your doctor. But yes teens can take Inderal. I started taking Inderal for prevention of migraine headaches when I was 17.
