I don’t know about permanent effects, but you could go through withdrawals if you stop or drop the dosage of either drug too quickly. I did that with Abilify and I suffered withdrawal symptoms. It was terrible. I had severe akathisia on Abilify so it had to be rapidly withdrawn so I had no choice in the matter but still, you will want to slowly go off these meds. Also if you go off them too fast or just stop them, your symptoms could return. Be sure to discuss all your options with the doctor first before making any decision about your medications.
