Triamcinolone acetonide cream should NOT be used on a canker sore. This cream is specifically for skin conditions such as eczema or any other symptoms with skin such as redness, swelling, or itchyness. It’s only for external use only because if you ingested a certain dosage, it can have severe side effects.

To lessen the pain, I suggest you use canker sore medicine like Orajel or Kanka. Orajel is easier to put on because it’s more of a gel whereas Kanka is more "liquidy" and the applicator is weird, but the results are the same.

I also suggest you use mouthwash everyday (morning and night) to kill bacteria and make it go away faster. It hurts because of the alcohol, but this is so that it kills the bacteria and prevents it from recurring again if you were to have another cut.

Try the over the counter supplement Lysine for canker sores.
