Can ambien cause a rise in blood pressure?

by Admin on November 30, 2009

My father recently had valve replacement; couldn’t sleep, doctor prescribed restoril first and then ambien to help with the sleeplessness. When home health nurse checked his blood pressure today, it was quite elevated. Could the use of either of these drugs cause this rise?

Yes, don’t let him take that. The dr. gave it to me and I was like a zombie in the morning and when I drove with the car I was like falling asleep. It also raised my pressure. Lunesta works much better. Remember one thing…what works for one guy may not work for the other. See what happens with the lunesta

check with your doctor or check with your doctor’s nurse by phone. Any medication can do just about anything to anybody.

When the force of the blood gushing against the walls of the blood vessels (the tiny tubes that carry blood throughout your body) is higher than normal because the blood vessels have either become less able to stretch or have gotten smaller; then the patient is suffering from High Blood Pressure or Hypertension.

Ambien like all synthetic sleep drugs cause a higher rate of mortality in those who use them. Why wouldn’t they cause other disturbing side effects?

Once the condidtion has stabalised and the doctor says it’s ok to reduce the use of drugs you might want to think about lowering your blood pressure naturally WITHOUT drugs. Lots of free information below, good luck!
