Soma works by actually causing skeletal muscle relaxation. Skelaxin works by causing sedation which in turn causes you to rest, and resting causes muscle relaxation. However, I ask you this? If Skelaxin promotes that it is the LEAST sedating of all muscle relaxers, wouldn't that mean it is the least effective ? :) I posed that question to my drug rep when she came in and she was speechless, had no answer.
