I understand that Soma is a CASMR or centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant. But what is Skelaxin’s classification?
I need an answer about the classification and not be sent to another website that sells drugs. If you don’t have an answer, just say so.

  1. Skelaxin is in the same class but they have different mechanisms of action.

Soma works by actually causing skeletal muscle relaxation. Skelaxin works by causing sedation which in turn causes you to rest, and resting causes muscle relaxation. However, I ask you this? If Skelaxin promotes that it is the LEAST sedating of all muscle relaxers, wouldn’t that mean it is the least effective ? :) I posed that question to my drug rep when she came in and she was speechless, had no answer. I guess health care providers aren’t supposed to think in that regard.
