I was on effexor for 3 years and I just wasn't stabilized. Ups and downs with no middle ground, Last October my doctor put me on Cymbalta. I have never felt so wonderful in years. The depression is extremely controlled and I have not had an episodes lasting more than hours- literally. Sexually, I'm doing fine, but a side from that I'm doing better at work dealing with stress and life in general. The increase of epinephrine and serotonin levels have done the trick. The only drawback I've had is that occasionally I've needed to take something to sleep. It's a great drug as far as I'm concerned. Hope you continue to maintain altitude!

I have been helped very much! but it has destroyed my pleasure in sex, so I am stopping it after 3 months of trying various "antidotes" to the loss of orgasm, including stimulants and wellbutrin. If I can't get by without it, I will try "drug holidays" so at least I can have some kind of sex life. My depression is VERY profound. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks in March for bipolar disorder. The doc really thought I should get ECT.
